DISTINGUISHING FEATURES...

IKEA is gorgeous! She has one blue eye and one brown, an adorable underbite, and a unique merle patterned coat. She's also a little bit bow-legged. She is toy crazy - LOVES LOVES LOVES to play with a variety of toys. She also loves to have a companion dog or two to play with. She is suspicious and wary of men, but we feel that a man who is willing to take time and be patient with her will win her over. She stresses over changes in her environment. Rearranging the furniture throws her for a loop until she adjusts to the new setup. A routine would help her feel more secure.

HOME/FAMILY LOOKING FOR...

IKEA's ideal adopter is a female only household or a patient man willing to take time to show her that not all men kick dogs. She was previously in a foster home where she would cuddle with her foster dad sometimes but was still suspicious of him whenever he was standing or moving about the house. A positive-based training class would do wonders for her confidence, so someone willing to invest in a class for her would be ideal. She is so sweet that she melts your heart when you meet her and WELL WORTH taking the time to win her over! A home with another dog or dogs for her to follow is preferred.

If you think IKEA could be The One for you, contact us today. This write-up describes her IDEAL home, but please contact us if you are interested, even if that doesn't describe you. It is impossible to fully describe a pet in a brief write-up, so a conversation is best!

BONUS: One 6-week Basic Obedience Plus class with Woof University sponsored by CARE is provided with the adoption of this dog. Attendence is required within 4 months of adoption.

A completed adoption application and home visit are required for approval to adopt a CARE dog. We do adopt out of state if all vetting is complete. The most accurate and complete information about available dogs can be found on our official website at www.caretoadopt.org.
